Your hosts, Fred & Prudy Westerberg, started Saco River Canoe & Kayak over 35 years ago to provide their customers a unique and truly memorable experience on Maine’s beautiful Saco River. The Saco River is a majestic waterway coming out of the stunning White Mountains of New Hampshire, and provides ideal conditions for a canoe or kayak trip of a lifetime. Located in the charming village of Fryeburg, Maine, Saco River Canoe & Kayak is situated conveniently adjacent to the entranceway to Swans Falls, the most popular access point on the river!

Fred and Prudy take great pride in providing a memorable, and above all else, safe trip for all of their guests as well as other river users. Over the years they have watched thousands enjoy the spectacular Saco River, the second most popular canoeing river east of the Mississippi.

The Westerbergs have the ideal trip for you. Whether you are looking for a peaceful, leisurely kayak trip during the week, or a more adventurous weekend canoe and camping trip, Fred and Prudy can tailor your trip just for you. Trips can be as short as one hour or as long as several days, all portage free. With miles of sandy beaches and clear, gentle water the Saco is the ideal playground for you and your friends or family. Typical one day trips go to either Canal or Walkers Bridge, while most overnight trips go to the Brownfield Bridge. For those truly seeking the whole experience, a three day trip to the Hiram Bridge is a worthwhile adventure. The Saco is a wonderful river to learn how to kayak for adults and children alike.

Saco River Canoe & Kayak is located approximately 3 hours north of Boston or 1 hour west of Portland, Maine. The memories you create will be well worth the drive!

Directions to Saco River Canoe & Kayak

FROM BOSTON:

From Boston, take Rt. 95 North to Exit 48(formerly Exit 8) in Portland.

Turn RIGHT onto Riverside Street, after the toll booth

Continue to the junction of Riverside and Rt. 302.

Take a LEFT onto Rt. 302, and continue into Fryeburg.

At the junction of Rt. 302 and Rt. 5,
(just after the cemetery on your left) take a RIGHT.

Saco River Canoe & Kayak is 1/2 a mile up on the RIGHT.

FROM CONWAY, NH:

From Rts. 16 & 302 in Conway Village (just after going
through the 4-way intersection lights and then passing the
Conway Public Library on your RIGHT) - continue
STRAIGHT through the next set of lights onto Rt. 113.

This will bring you to Center Conway, where that road
again turns into Rt. 302. Continue following Rt.302 (east).

Travel about 6 miles into Fryeburg Village.

Continue through the lights, passing Fryeburg
Academy on your RIGHT. Just past the academy,
bear LEFT onto Rt. 5.

Saco River Canoe & Kayak is 1/2 mile up on your RIGHT.
